TanahLotTanah Lot is a beautiful tourist destination bless by the stoning panorama of a Hindu Temple set on the rock and circle by the sea water situated in Tabanan regency, west part of Bali regency. It is one of the famous tourist destinations that’s many visit by tourist every day and to be a main place to visit on the favorite Tanah Lot tour. Tanah Lot is located on the beach area of Beraban village, Kediri district and Tabanan regency which is just about 30 km from Denpasar city or about 11 Km to the south site of Tabanan town. The name of this area is come from the name of the secret Temple called by Tanah Lot Temple uniquely set on beach rock approximately 3 h that is just about 100 m from the shore.

Since there are the Hindu religion and culture influences Bali Island from 8 century by existing a phallus on Tanah Lot, hence it can be said that Tanah Lot had existed a secret place to worship the Siva God. According to Dhang Yang Nirartha instruction in 16 century, he had built a Tanah Lot Temple without abandoning tradition that was existed before. Before this Temple is built, he felt the vibration of holiness and spiritual protection that is called Jiwan Mukti.

Based on the environmental condition, the structure of Tanah Lot Temple is built on the rock plateau irregular edges that consist of one plain/ courtyard as main temple area. On this courtyard, there are main temple building set on it include Meru with five storey roof top, the media to worship Segara God or Baruna God as a ruler of the ocean. Meanwhile a Meru is a temple with three storey roof top as media to worship for the glory of Danghyang Nirartha who preserve and develop the culture and Hinduism.

As one of the famous tourist destinations in Bali, Tanah Lot has been developed professionally into an international standard tourist destination by providing complete public facilities and security services including life guard. The complete facilities are provided includes toilet, parking area, Bale for resting, paging system, cctv, souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels, food and drink stall.
